you have got to be kidding me
While I am not the rabid Obama supporter that most of my friends are, this distillation by the New Yorker is so underhanded with its portrayal of the potential first couple it makes me want to hurl. Why have I not heard any commentary on this in the blogosphere. Oh It’s the New Yorker, no harm no foul, thank goodness it wasn’t FOX?

I haven’t had a chance to read the article, but the impression I get from the drawing is that this is a completely ironic and sympathetic message parodying Fox news type portrayals of the Obamas. Michelle Obama mocked it herself, giving the other women on “The View” a black power fist-bump. The only reservation I have about this drawing is that some misguided souls that don’t normally read the New Yorker will miss the irony/parody and feel validated in their ignorant stereotyping and bigotry. If that happens then yeah, I’d be ready to hurl too. I’ll bet the artist had great intentions but may underestimate the ignorance of the american people.
