What Black Men Think and What the NAACP Doesn’t

The NAACP Image awards are coming up and they have just selected the nominees. The NAACP markets the awards as the nation’s premier event celebrating the outstanding achievements and performances of people of color in the arts as well as those individuals or groups who promote social justice.It is supposed to be a proactive group that works for the improvement of African Americans and all people of color. Rather than do this in the last few years, the organization has proven itself to be a top heavy bureaucracy that has been incapable of keeping up with the times. Nothing has proven this fact more to me than their failure to nominate What Black Men Think in their documentary category.
